I trained as a painter at Reading University, where I also took an Art Teachers Diploma. I taught in Trinidad, Tanzania, Suffolk and Surrey. I was brought up on a Warwickshire farm and drew and painted from early childhood. During the 1980’s, whilst teaching in Haslemere, I began work on intricate watercolours of plants and trees. During the part-time mature students degree course at WSCAD, Farnham (1989-94), I started making large, detailed drawings of the head from life. These formed the basis of my very large paintings and etchings of groups of heads. I have exhibited in Dar es Salaam, Cyprus, France, Rome, also the RA Summer Exhibition and the National Print Exhibition. I have also had work in galleries in Hampshire, Surrey and London, and continue to exhibit regularly. And a woman who held a babe against her bosom said, "Speak to us of Children." And he said: Your Children are not
